    Job Description: This support analyst position will provide 24/6 batch monitoring services for FI businesses, specifically the Credit Derivative area, systems are managed and operated on a global basis. Candidates expected to understand the core application batch processes, Unix scripting, tcl, perl and Python. Also require proven Sybase database skills and must be competent with T-SQL. Candidate will be required to read and interpret complex logs and diagnose problems. Individuals must be self-starting and able to co-ordinate between disparate groups. Intercultural adaptability also required. Candidates required to proactively seek out and repair system inconsistencies and coordinate with customer service / support teams.

    Key Job Expectations: Provide support, consultancy and management for proprietary software used globally, 24x6. self-motivating individuals who must be able to communicate effectively in a team spread over 6 sites. Diagnose problems, define and escalate problems and issues to other groups or be able to resolve the problem themselves, follow up with users to ensure problem resolution and insure appropriate feedback to other relevant I.T. groups. Will be expected to co-ordinate implementations, test changes where appropriate, define and prioritise operational requirements to other support groups. Candidates will be expected to analyse and trouble-shoot the infrastructure and processes associated with the batch processes. They must be able to understand the problems as a customer describes them and translate them into the specific technical problem.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Mid level expertise with Unix operating system, esp. Shell/Perl/Python Scripting
    • Mid level expertise using Sybase Structured Query Language (T-SQL).
    • Strong analytical ability to read complex logs and trouble-shoot problems
    • Fixed Income Product knowledge useful.
    • Experience with Autosys job management system desirable.

You should have strong Unix skills and experience with multi-developer environments as well as source control and documentation experience.

    A Bachelors Degree and 4-6 years experience, an analytical mind, an attention to detail, strong experience on Unix systems, good SQL knowledge, Python and programming skills and strong Unix scripting experience are required. The ideal candidate should also be able to learn new technology quickly and thoroughly and be equally able to work as a team member and tackle a complex project individually.
